Oracle PL/SQL Developer

Tellenger is seeking two individuals to do Oracle PL/SQL development work at the military base in Quantico, VA on the Marine Corps manpower systems. The position is are full-time at Quantico (25 miles from Beltway), NO security clearance is required, but MUST BE a U.S. Citizen. Option to work as employee or 1099.

Position Description
The candidate will work at the direction of the government to perform the following type of activities:

  • Support system development initiatives throughout all lifecycle stages, including requirements definition, design, development, testing, and implementation
  • Develop and maintain database solutions in Oracle 10g running in a RAC environment (Version 10g and above)
  • Provide maintenance and support for Oracle Webcache and Oracle Application Server (Version 10g and above)
  • Test and implement proposed solutions in an Oracle Portal environment

Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Ability

  1. Core Consulting Skills, including:
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills
    • Experience working directly with customers, including producing technical documentation and conducting technical presentations
    • Proven ability to work in a team environment and provide technical team mentorship
    • Strong time management and organizational skills
  2. System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience (4+ years), including:
    • Full project life cycle experience (requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, etc.)
    • Consulting with clients to define needs or problems
    • Active involvement in the design, development, and implementation of software systems
    • Experience with source control and configuration management
  3. Desired experience with Oracle Portal, including:
    • Significant implementation experience and a proven track record in architecting and implementing successful Oracle Portal (R2 with 9IAS) and J2EE-compliant web solutions
    • Strong proficiency (4+ years) in PL/SQL, which is used predominantly throughout the Portal application
    • Unix/Linux familiarity (2+ years) required (shell scripting)
    • Familiarity with 3-tiered architecture environments
    • Ability to analyze, evaluate and solve problems of a difficult process or technical nature with strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
  4. Oracle Database Administration experience, including:
    • Patch installation and management
    • Database management and backups using RMAN
    • Database migration and upgrades
    • Database performance tuning
  5. Other relevant experience, including:
    • Experience working with Red Hat Linux operating systems (RHEL 4.0)
    • Experience implementing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions and/or using digital signatures
